John is a PGA of Canada Teaching Professional in Parksville, BC. An award-winning golf instructor, John provides golf lessons and golf coaching at The Randle Golf Academy at Morningstar, in Parksville, BC, just north of Nanaimo.
Are you a golfer who is frustrated with your game, doesn’t feel you are improving as fast as you should or is confused about what you should be working on? Unfortunately, this is very normal among golfers. But, it doesn’t have to be!
John’s students are just like you. Some want to improve their golf to remove frustration or become more consistent. Others are looking to play better in tournaments and/or pursue a golf scholarship. Many more are simply looking to feel more comfortable playing golf with their boss, clients, or friends. No matter what better golf will mean to you, golf lessons and golf coaching in Parksville, with John, will get you there. John guarantees it!
John has been very lucky with his life in golf. He has been playing golf for over 35 years. A long-time Vancouver Island resident, John played junior golf at Uplands GC in Victoria before attending the University of Washington where he played on the golf team for 4 years and earned a Bachelor of Psychology degree.
After graduation, John turned pro and played on tour for 8 years. His travels included seven years on the Canadian Tour, two seasons on the South African PGA Tour, and extensive play on mini-tours in the U.S. His playing career was highlighted by two events on the PGA Tour.
At the end of his playing career, John turned his focus to teaching the game, and through hard work and good fortune, has become one of Canada’s most sought-after instructors. John’s 20+ years of golf coaching experience has lead to many great relationships, the opportunity to develop and run some fantastic golf academies and the development of a coaching approach that really works!
John is excited that his journey has taken him to Morningstar Golf Club in Parksville in his role as Director of Golf and the launching of the Randle Golf Academy!

- Winner of over 50 professional events including the BC PGA Championship, BC PGA Assistants' Championship and the Vancouver Island PGA Championship, all in one year
- Played the South African Tour from 1994 – 1996
- Played several US mini-tour events from 1992 – 1996
- Played in two events on the PGA Tour (Canadian Open and Air Canada Championship)
